What is Innatal?
Innatal is a gentle, grounded space that offers intuitive, evidence-based support through pregnancy, birth, and early parenting. We blend science, tradition, and deep emotional presence to help you feel seen, supported, and sovereign in your journey.
What services do you offer?
We support families through a variety of offerings, including:
- Prenatal Coaching & Birth Preparation
- Hypnobirthing (Private & Group)
- Birth Doula Support
- Postpartum Guidance & Emotional Integration
- Mind-body tools: breathwork, journaling, meditation
- Intimate parent circles & workshops
✨ Whether you’re birthing at home, in a hospital, or through cesarean, we meet you where you are.
Is this just for natural births?
Not at all. We honor every kind of birth — unmedicated, epidural-assisted, planned cesarean, VBAC, hospital or home. Our role is to hold space, offer clarity, and build your confidence — not to push a particular path.
What’s the difference between a doula and a midwife?
A doula provides non-medical support: emotional guidance, physical comfort, and advocacy.
A midwife provides clinical care (monitoring baby, checking vitals, etc.).
We work alongside your clinical care team to make sure your birth space feels calm, supported, and centered on you.
When should I reach out for doula support or start birth prep?
Most families connect with us in the second trimester, but it’s never too early or too late. The sooner we start, the more space we have to build trust, prepare your body and mind, and personalize your support.
My partner will be with me — do I still need a doula?
Absolutely. Doulas don’t replace partners — we support them too.
We help partners feel informed, calm, and empowered, so they can offer even deeper care during labor and beyond.
What is hypnobirthing?
Hypnobirthing is a relaxation-centered approach to childbirth that uses breathwork, visualization, and language to create a calm, fear-reducing birth experience. It’s not stage hypnosis — it’s about retraining the nervous system to trust birth.
Do you offer virtual support?
Yes — many of our offerings, including coaching, classes, and postpartum support, are available virtually. Perfect for parents outside our local range or those who prefer a more flexible setup.
Do you support LGBTQIA+ families and non-traditional family structures?
Yes. Innatal is an inclusive, affirming space for all birthing people — including queer, trans, solo, and chosen-family parents. Your identity, pronouns, beliefs, and needs will always be honored here.
Is hiring a doula or doing birth preparation a luxury?
We understand this question deeply — and it’s a valid one. While doula care may seem like a luxury in today’s medicalized birth system, it’s actually rooted in community-based, ancestral support that once belonged to everyone.
At Innatal, we see this kind of care as a necessity, not a privilege — because every birthing person deserves to feel informed, respected, and emotionally held. We also offer flexible options and payment plans to make support more accessible.
I already have a doctor or midwife — do I really need additional support?
Doctors and midwives are focused on the clinical aspects of birth — which are essential.
But who’s caring for your emotions, fears, intuition, and mental preparation?
That’s where we come in. Our role complements your medical team by offering continuous emotional and physical support, helping you feel truly cared for as a whole person — not just a patient.
What if I’m on a budget?
We hear you. We believe that this kind of support should be available to more families, not just the few. That’s why we:
- Offer sliding scale spots when possible
- Provide digital options (virtual coaching, group classes, downloadable guides)
- Offer payment plans to ease financial pressure
- Occasionally host free or pay-what-you-can community circles and sessions
Please don’t hesitate to reach
Why does this type of support cost what it does?
Our rates reflect not just the time spent at a birth or during sessions, but also:
- Personalized care and prep before and after your birth
- Emotional labor and availability during key moments
- Years of training, holding space, and trauma-informed practice
- The deep, relational care that doesn’t exist in most medical settings
That said, we’re always happy to be transparent and flexible — and we’re rooting for accessible care to be the norm, not the exception.
Do you take insurance?
Most doula services are not yet covered by insurance in many countries — but this is slowly changing. Some flexible spending or health savings accounts (FSA/HSA) do allow reimbursement for doula or childbirth education. We’re happy to provide receipts or itemized invoices if you’d like to try submitting for coverage.
I’m not sure if this is “for me.” I’m anxious about doing it the “right” way.
There’s no “right” way to prepare or give birth — and Innatal exists to support your way. Whether you’re type-A and want all the plans, or you’re just trying to stay afloat emotionally, we’re here to walk beside you — not to make you perform, prove, or perfect anything.
If you’ve ever felt like birth spaces weren’t built for you — we made this one with you in mind.
Do you offer virtual support?
Yes! Virtual support is a wonderful option for those outside our local area or who prefer remote guidance. Through video calls, messages, and tailored resources, we provide emotional support, birth preparation, and postpartum check-ins — all from the comfort of your home. You’ll still feel held, informed, and empowered, no matter the distance.
Is a doula medically trained?
No, a doula is not medically trained and does not perform clinical tasks like checking blood pressure or delivering the baby. Instead, a doula provides continuous physical, emotional, and informational support to the birthing person and their partner — helping them feel calm, confident, and in control throughout the journey.
What is the benefit of hiring a doula?
Studies show that having a doula can lead to shorter labors, fewer interventions, and a more positive birth experience overall. A doula supports you before, during, and after birth — helping you make informed choices, easing fears, offering comfort measures, and being a steady presence every step of the way.
Are doulas welcome in a hospital setting?
Yes, most hospitals welcome doulas as part of the birth team. Doulas work alongside doctors, nurses, and midwives to support you. It’s always a good idea to check your hospital’s policy ahead of time, but in most cases, doulas are encouraged and respected as valuable support persons.
